Celtic Knots
I tatted a bracelet for youngest daughter today using Rozella Linden's Celtic Knot Tatted Shamrock pattern. The color looks almost black in the picture, but it is a green (Cebelia #699 in size 20). I did a couple of practice shamrocks--one three leaf and one four leaf to work out any kinks I might run into and to figure out how I wanted to string the motifs together. I turned the practice motifs into a couple of bookmarks by adding little tassels. So I finished THREE projects today while trying to do one! Not bad.

Lovely bracelet it is always nice to make things for the kids!!1
They look great! :)
Very nice.
Not bad at all! I love Rozella Linden's patterns, and I have that book. I guess I should try tatting something from it!
Thanks, everyone. My daughter is away for the weekend so she hasn't seen it yet, but I think she'll like it.
Diane, would you please check the pattern in your book and see if the initial round is symmetrical? My pattern is a pdf and the initial round was not symmetrical. It just didn't look right when finished so I edited to get the symmetry I thought they needed.
Well Kudos to you for figuring out how to twist that chain around into a Celtic Knot. LOL Myself, I always go for Rosemarie Peel's celtic style. Even my DH, who is very good with knot tying (boy scout that he was) had trouble figuring out how to noodle that chain into a celtic knot. Too fidgety for me to fight with..
But love yours! Really pretty pieces. I'm a new follower of your blog and enjoying it very much. I've tatted your bookmark with a clover..and it was fun to do and I liked the result.
Bev also a Davis…aka Ridgewoman
Thank you, Bev. I'm thrilled that you are enjoying following my blog.I really love both Celtic styles. As to this particular knot, by the time I had done seven of them, I was feeling pretty good about them. It took me a bit to figure out what part to do first and how to keep from having to weave with both ends which would have meant cutting loose from my shuttle. Let me share what worked for me and perhaps you will want to try it again.
I made the first loop to my left first with the shuttle end of my thread as the anchoring end (on my right). I then formed the center leaf making sure that it lay in place correctly to the first leaf. (You'll loop around behind that anchoring tail you are holding.) Then I formed the last leaf and used the paper clip end to weave it over and under the appropriate parts of the other two leaves in the center.
Let me know if that helps you any.
