The tatting is done, but I haven't pressed it yet. The outer round has a ruffled effect at the moment which I think is quite attractive. It has been lots of fun to tat.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It really has been fun to tat. I've started a project in size 20 now and I feel like I'm working with rope after tatting with size 80 for so many weeks. :) I've thought about tatting a teapot to mount to fabric for the center or doing some cross-stitch. I'm open to suggestions.
I could see two things one to put an old black and white photo inside. Or a pillow with needle work on it like "the Princess is sleeping" Or some other saying on it:)
The question of what to put in it may not be resolved until I decide who gets it. I love your suggestion, Madtatter80, should it wind up in Butter Bean's room. If I keep it for myself, I might tat a teapot to mount on a fabric center or embroider one. So many possibilities! Meanwhile, I've already started tatting another project.
I just noticed this post, and I'm so impressed with this gorgeous tatted edging. It's just perfect, and amazing that you figured out the pattern! I'm sure Norma would be pleased! Your detailed descriptions would be quite helpful to those attempting the pattern. I especially am amazed that you used size 80 thread. Lovely work!

A copy of the original pattern is available in Craftree at http://www.craftree.com/patterns/4744, but the original image is very poor.
